My Favorites

Favorite Band or Musician: Me! of course, just kidding Yet you gotta love what you do, Seriously though how about ? Keith Urban, He and I sort of have the same understanding of melody and lyrical writing and we both play a mean guitar. I was young in the 70`s yet loved the Eagles and was teased about it because everyone else was into the Monster rock band KISS and I  was at home listening to the Eagles. My relatives  were a tad bit older than I and were all into the band America, I loved that song "Sister golden hair" "Well I keep on thinking bout you sister golden hair suprise" I loved all that 70`s stuff. I think I learned how to put lyrics together early in life because my Dad would watch the Mac Davis show and I somehow caught on real quick how to compose a song in a matter of minutes, even seconds, I was facinated how Mac could compose a song in a matter of second from one or two words from the audience, he would sit in the middle of the stage with his guitar and ask a member of the audience for any word or sentence and he would compose this super ridculious song from whatever they gave him, Sort of like the show "Who`s line is it anyways" yet Mac was totally alone and unrehearsed it was complete and true adlib. Some of my best written songs I've written in 5 minutes. I was a top Finalist in this contest for Country great Tim McGraw's next cd. His Manager had put the word out he was looking for songs for Tim, so of course everyone and their brothers cousin and aunt trudy submited songs, even famous writers submitted songs,it was a big thing, they narrowed it down to 11 top finalist, it was all over Aol for a time and the internet. I won with a song I wrote in 5 minutes,Thank you Mac! The 70`s were cool and then somewhere along the way AC/DC changed all that haha, Yes its true, there was a moment where AC/DC invaded my soul and I listened to them religiously, I learned all my power chords from them from playing their songs. So you take a little bit of AC/DC throw in some Mac Davis, some simple acoustic sounds from the 70`s, the Eagles and it turns into a sort of, well, I am still trying to figure that out? LOL Yet it seems I lean toward a more of a Rock-Country-Pop-Soul sort of thing. you gotta love it!
